Best Android App to Record Phone Calls (for interviews)

Yeah, I use Google Voice. You'd have to give everyone a new phone number to text and call. The texts would go to the Voice app and the calls would forward to your AT&T number. It has issues with MMS messages... Picture messages get forwarded to your cell #, but iPhone group messages have disappeared into the ether for me.

Another thing to note is that Google is planning to integrate Voice into their new Hangouts app. How that will work, and if it will break current features nobody really knows.

If you can, get your most frequent texters to install the hangouts app on Android or iOS and avoid fees that way. It's a nice looking app and has emoji, group chat and picture support.

i use google voice to transcribe voice mails for me - i get an email and a txt. its great.

works on my normal # too.

 

note iphone users can txt between each other for free via iMessage. 

goes over wifi too, you dont even need a cell contract.

I've used that feature quite a bit on my iPhone. The text will show on all devices set to the same ID.
