Shoe finds home

I'm bummed Shoe won't be with the Angels anymore as I have always liked him, but my guess is the Angels are not confident in his ability to stay healthy.

Shoemaker will earn an additional $250K if he gets to 150, 160, 170 or 180 innings.

Looks like he'll be making $3.5M in 2019

Everybody had fun rooting for Shoemaker.

But I always felt the combination of his Cinderella season on 2014 (16 wins in 136 innings) and his easy- to-root-for blue collar grinder identity made him fairly overrated.

He is a major league pitcher, a #5 that guts out #4 type production. . .

But not somebody I am losing a bit of sleep over losing.

Well, we'll have an interesting comparison in the upcoming season. How will Shoe do, on a dollar per WAR basis, compared to Cahill and Harvey. Assuming they use Shoe as a starter.

Matt Shoemaker has been good for 1 season and OK in another but not good in all the rest, I for one am not sorry to see him go. I hope he does well, but I'm OK with letting him go.

I always liked Shoe. The guy always showed a lot of mettle. Plus his splitter wasn’t bad either. Best of luck to him

Shoe is a gamer and I still believe we made a mistake letting him go but it is done, time to move on.

Shoe is a gutsy pitcher.  I can easily imagine him pitching 3 hit ball over 7 shutout innings against the Angels sometime in 2019 in a "how do you like me now" outing against his former team.
