Daniel Murphy to the Rockies

I really wanted Daniel Murphy to be a 2nd baseman that could also play 1st base.  Then when I heard he had played some 3rd I really wanted him to be an Angel.

Murphy in Colorado should be an interesting fantasy baseball option. He still has 20 HR power but the 40 DB he hits per year could result in a few more homeruns.

he is perhaps the worst infield defender in baseball.  Over the last 7 years, he's got -82 defensive runs saved at 2b.  20 worse than the next closest player who is 30 worse than the next.  ie, the 3rd worst had -33 DRS.  

He's literally the anti-Eppler. 

I could probably live with avg defense or even slightly below.  He's a butcher.  It's like putting Pujols at 2b.  

just wanted to point that out to make myself feel better because at first glance, I thought he'd be a useful add as well.

Apparently he isnt expected to play ANY second or third base for the Rockies. The guys on MLB radio, this AM, are saying that Desmond will move to CF and Murph will play 1st. Blackmon moves to left and Dahl to right. I never realized what a bad OFer Charlie Blackmon is, but I dont watch the Rockies much. Only Harper was a worse outfielder last year, according to these guys. Amazing that he was allowed to play CF so much.
