The Angels have agreed to sign right-hander Trevor Cahill to a one-year deal, confirmed a source, adding a second starter this week.

Both Trevor Cahill and Matt Harvey, who agreed to a one-year deal on Monday, have had up-and-down careers.

Cahill, 30, enjoyed a bounce-back season with the Oakland A’s last year, posting a 3.76 ERA in 110 innings.

In a 10-year major league career, Cahill has a 4.08 ERA. He began as an above-average starter with Oakland, then struggled for a few years before reviving his career as a reliever with the Cubs in 2016.

Cahill joins Harvey, Tyler Skaggs, Andrew Heaney and Jaime Barría at the top of the Angels’ rotation depth chart.

They also have Felix Peña, Nick Tropeano, Dillon Peters and JC Ramírez, once he comes back from Tommy John surgery around midseason.

The Angels made offers for top starters Patrick Corbin, Nate Eovaldi and J.A. Happ, but all signed elsewhere, forcing the Angels to go second-tier starters.

More to come on this story.
