It's also possible that Ohtani's on track to be HEALTHY by Opening Day but they want to give him additional time to get his swing and timing back before playing consequential games if he misses most of Spring Training.

Even Fletcher reported this a couple of months ago. It was never promised.

I dismissed it outright, when I read it in the primer because we dont need Ohtani. Adell is breaking ST camp with the big club and displacing Trout in CF by mid-May. I read it on AW, somewhere.
