I would think the Yankees really would like to get Harper, but that would displace Stanton.

Stanton is owned $52m over the next 2 years before he likely opts out for a new deal starting in 2021.

The Yankees also have Aaron Hicks, but the OF/DH combo of Harper/Stanton/Judge/Hicks is likely to be the four. Brett Gardner is likely gone, and they also don't have a set 1st baseman, meaning Judge or Stanton or Harper can play 1st for them if needed.

It's certainly a murderers row.

The Yankees already re-signed Gardner. So, he's an outfield piece, too.

He did resign for $7.5 over one year. I think they'd move him if they signed Harper.

How did the Yankees AND Harper trade Stanton?  I mean, Harper isn't even on their team, let alone in their front office.

Is 7.5 mil too much for our 4th outfielder, our Trout back up and insurance in case Calhoun tanks again? He would be a decent leadoff guy, too. Maybe a late inning defensive replacement for Upton, too:  Lord knows we need it.

We've paid that much in the past, I believe.

Or is it another season of Michael effin Hermosillo?

They resigned Peter Bourjos to a minors deal. And also Jarrett Parker.
