in this discussion, i've always thought gibson's homer was more important simply because it showed eckersley could be hit and it gave a HUGE boost of momentum to the doggies. 

the dodgers had no business winning that series - they were pretty banged up, and the A's were an excellent team. But that one moment in time shifted momentum specifically to the doggies, and it helped propel them to the series win.

fisk's homer was huge - it won game 6 for the bosom and extended the series to game 7 at home. The Reds shook it off pretty well and won an exciting game, and with it, the series.
