I think I predicted Ohtani would sign with the Giants. Then I said he'd be Justin Verlander on the mound and Eric Thames at the plate. People get things wrong all the time though. I remember experts comparing Mike Trout to Aaron Rowand. But now that I think of it, that might have been a fair assessment. Mike Trout at age 17 probably was as good as Aaron Rowand was in his prime. I'm sure they didn't mean it that way. 

But the internet videos can be deceiving. Baldoquin looked pretty good in his showcase video. Randal Grichuk in the high school HR derby was something else.
