Catcher Dustin Garneau, a Cal State Fullerton product who has played parts of four years in the majors, has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Angels, adding his name into the catching mix.

Jose Briceño and Kevan Smith are the only catchers on the Angels’ on the 40-man roster.

Garneau, 31, played one game in the majors last year, with the Chicago White Sox. In 2017, he played 41 games, between the Oakland A’s and Colorado Rockies.

Garneau has a career .194 average with a .269 on-base percentage in the majors. In the minors, he has a career .253 average with a .340 on-base percentage.
