I think he actually worked quite hard to improve his hitting and thought he found something, but that something hasn't shown up yet, and it's looking rather bleak that it ever will.

Of all the signings this off season the best is Lucroy, but even that one gets derailed by Smith as the #2, we would have been better with Briceno and a couple of prospects backing up Lucroy and Briceno at Salt Lake.  It's still early yet, but the trends and pieces are looking wrong.

I think we still have Briceno in the minors.  I don’t think we have any other catching options.

Jack Kruger is a possible catching prospect.

Has a decent career OBP in the minors, but also only 65 XBHs in close to 1,000 at bats.
