It's really not that bad, they just do it so frequently.  I'm really glad they're tearing down that abomination in left center field.  But they are paining the OF walls the same electric blue color as their logo, which should create for some technicolor level entertainment.

I wish the Angels would redesign and return to their roots.  The white unis look good but they could definitely use a rebrand.

Meh. Id prefer we stay with the current unis. Theres something to be said for the teams who have stayed the same.

I hate the dodgers as much as the next person with a brain. But they have the best uniform. I hate the yankees, but ditto, its a very clean, classic look. Oakland, too. St Louis, etc.

I prefer the 80s and then 90s unis (pre disney). But I wouldnt redesign the current.

i have no words for how much i wish we would do something like this.  My disdain for the all reds has been documented.  I miss the old one that had a more easily recognizable identity.

The problem the Angels have had is that all of their uniforms have looked dated. I bet if you showed a European with zero knowledge of baseball they could generally guess the era in which the uni's were worn.

I'd probably the the uniform that came closest to that not being the case was the early / mid 90's California Angels, CA uniforms.

Their current uni probably does a better job of standing up over the years than anything they have previously worn.   It's a simple clean look that stands in direct contrast with their "crosstown" rivals.

My personal favorite is the uni Hunter is wearing below -- I've got a red cap with the lower case "a" that is pretty snappy...   As iconic as the Kendrys uni is, I always thought the Hunter uni stood out more and is more unique...

Pretty much everything about the franchise is dated, but not in a good way.  The ball park is cookie cutter.  There's very little that's specifically Southern California or Orange County about it.  It's not a bad place to play baseball, ease of access, centralized location, great weather, and they've been here long enough that there some passionate history behind all of it.  But the Angels need a ball park that reflects all of that, and they just don't.  It'd be nice if they found somewhere to play for just a year or two so they an tear current Angel Stadium to the ground and build something the fans can be proud of.  And if they are going to stick with renovating the same old thing that wasn't worthy of renovation in the first place, then it needs to be a very VERY extensive renovation.  Everything, walls, concourses, exterior design, everything except the playing surface.

And as for the logo, again, find a balance between the two.  Their current jerseys look like they're straight out of 2002....because they are.  That's back when JNCO jeans, frosted tips and N'Sync were awesome.  That logo was never a classic or futuristic design and it was never meant to be something that stuck.  It was an improvement over the periwinkle unis....but then again, EVERYTHING was an improvement there.

The Angels need to design a logo and color scheme that fits the current era, works in the future and is a specific nod to the past.  Reincorporate navy blue back into the color scheme, and while we won't go with the "CA" logo anymore because we decidedly aren't the California Angels anymore, We could still redesign the A or have an LA in it, I mean we've been the LA Angels for a decade now.  If we want to the be known as LA, then put it in the logo, just not exactly like the Dodgers.  As we've seen, the Mets and the Yankees do it differently, and so could we.

I just think the Angels deserve better.  If the Marlins can get a new ball park and new logos to try and reflect the current Miami vibe while respecting the culture there, so can the Angels.

I love the red uni's.  they're my favorite.

I agree I didn’t know so many people disliked the uniforms, I think they are really nice and they successfully branded Angels Red, IMO.

I do like some of our old California Angels uniforms but I think they are way too dated to make a change back to those.

I like the Dan Haren uniform the best.

I liked them but to me it screamed hey look at me I'm retro too....  Every team in MLB did something similar around then after the CWS went to their black unis in 91...

Case in point....

It's the same exact uniform only it's red vs blue...

I don't know if I'd agree with that... although you are forcing these current uni's to face off against past ones so... The current uni's are rocking that nu-metal vibe from the turn of the century.  It says, we have tradition but we take it seriously, even aggressively. Style has moved on and this iteration has been shown for what it really is; a modern attempt at updating an old style that is simultaneous clearly not that old style, and clearly no longer modern.

It's more about the logo for me than the lettering...

LOL, man, I followed along with everything you said and don't really disagree but it still readd like one of those Rolling Stone album critiques where they basically are calling the band out for being boring..  lol..

I could do that job.

Also we are talking about logo / uniform design. It's hard to not sound like a pretentious snob talking about highly subjective things like music or fashion.

And thinking about it more, it's not unlike an old band putting out a new album decades after their heyday.

Totally, that's why I made the Rolling Stone comment because it was an easy comparison.

I like the current uniforms a lot and see no reason to change. But if we went back to the ones Kendrys is rocking in this photo? I'd be down for that. 100%.
