I hope no one signs either of the Douchetastic Duo, and the season begins without either of them at this point. They can both suck a butt. Let's get going with some damn baseball already!!!  Even Little League is delayed with all this damn rain we've had.  Practices were supposed to start last weekend but fields still aren't open...maybe tomorrow.

That's a nice return for the Marlins. Sixto Sanchez is the best Phillies prospect, #13 in all of baseball according to BA. Alfaro is a good young catcher, and Stewart looks very promising.

My guess is that a comparable package from the Angels would have been Jo Adell, David Fletcher, and Jose Soriano.

I would say that Alfaro is more valuable than Fletcher by a decent amount.  He's got a much higher ceiling.

I realize that. I couldn't find a good comp and I figure that Adell has a slight edge over Sanchez. Maybe Rengifo is a better option, or Marsh. Soriano is also probably lesser than Stewart, at least based upon stats. But I didn't research it too much.

Well its a given we could not match this deal. which is fine as it would have been a huge overpay
Value of a player though also has a lot to do with when you are trying to win, a star player now is worth far more now if you want to win now, versus even a couple guys that could be stars in a couple years.
Philly got worked on this deal in my opinion, but it seems clear they are looking at the now and felt it was worth it.
Look at it this way, with that trade we might have pulled ahead of Phi on the chart, one more team in front of us makes a trade and were top 5 and can spend :)
