Aw he loved being an Angel, cool to see him be emotional in the press conference. I’m sure he’ll manage again, probably the dodgers

Good time to start fresh for both sides

Terry was speculating about him possibly managing the Rangers, or maybe the Orioles.

Gee, I hope for his sake that doesn't happen.

I have an eleven year old dog, Sosh is the only Angels manager she has ever seen.   It was a great news conference, I'm sure it will get posted, believe me it's worth watching.  Lots of pressure on Eppler to get someone who will represent the organization with the kind of dedication Scioscia has had over the past 19 years.

Scioscia's teams made the playoffs 7 times in 19 years.  37%.   When he started 27% of teams made the playoffs (let's ginore the Angels' four team division).  Now, 33% o%f teams make the playoffs.  Considering the Angels' payroll over the course of Scioscia's tenure....  the 7 playoff appearances should be expected.  A record over .500 should certainly be expected.   Yeah, they made some bad moves with that money... maybe it was the GM... maybe it was the owner.

People list that accomplishment.... and manager of the year awards... and wins... and tenure (I think the contract extension was his greatest accomplishment)..... and talk about Hall of Fame.   I don't see the results as great.  Good, ok.  Exceptional? No.

37% > 33%

Thanks, Sosh!

Scioscia was a great manager from 2000 until 2008 or so. Will always appreciate what he did for this franchise in those years, but he should have been gone for at least 6 years now. Maybe he can do better with a new team without the complacency. This was a long time coming!

He sure did suck in 2009.  Team only made it to the ALCS
