Scioscia managed in a such a way that I really don't care if he stays or goes.

Before Sosh, this was an organization that was changing directions every couple of years. Nothing constant, just flailing around. When Stoneman and Sosh took over that changed.

He did some dumb shit, and wasn't the greatest manager, but he was our manager. Jesus I was fuckin 13 when he took over. I can't even imagine the dugout without him.

All I will say is, be careful what you wish for. As bad as you may think he is, it can always be worse.

He was a pretty good manager and I have a feeling we’ll miss him, if only for the lasagna jokes, but it is time to turn the page.

 Nobody is perfect and Scioscia certainly was not.  But I hate that I have to preface comments about him like that.  It really speaks to how shitty the perspective is for so many Angels fans.  Mike Scioscia on the whole has been a great manager.  He oversaw almost 2 decades of basically unheard of stability in professional sports.  He oversaw by a huge margin the most successful period in Angels history.  He installed a culture that made it legit for fans to whine about not winning.  Mike Scioscia should get a statue at Angel stadium.  

If this is it for him, and I assume that it is.  I am looking forward to a new era.  Still, I doubt I’ll ever be a “fan” of a manager the way I’ve been of “Sosh”.  He deserves the affection of all not retarded Angel fans.  Happy trails Mike.  You’ll always be an Angel.

Grateful for what he provided to the organization and for 2002. Unfortunately he just overstayed his welcome and can't keep up with today's game. However, I can't blame him.. he's the one that got that big fat contract after all. It's just Arte who is too cheap to fire him and get another manager..

As an Angels fan for 54 years I was and am more than satisfied with Sosh. Who’s better, f’ing Rigney, come on.

Multiple playoff showings and a WS win works for me. Sosh is and was only as good as the roster he dealt with.

Man, it's really happening. I've made a similar post before, but now that it's official, it's just so real. Lots of emotions running through my head right now.

Am I the only one having difficulty processing this? I don't even know how to feel. It needed to happen, but damn, Sosh was strangely a big part of my life. We've had so many players come and go, but Sosh has been the only constant through pretty much my entire life as an Angels fan. And the Angels have often been one of my few sources of consistant happiness. 

For the older fans, you've been through lots of managers, owners, and obviously players. But for me, Mike Scioscia is more a part of this team than anyone else has ever been. 

One thing that people will never appreciate, is just how good he was for the Angels. 1650 wins, managed the team during their only WS win, and led the team to the playoffs 6 times in his first 10 years. The Angels have made the playoffs just 10 times in their 58 year career. Sosh was the manager during 7 of those times. Whether you believe the manager has a significant impact on the team's success, or none at all, clearly Mike was doing something right. As far as this organization goes, he's the greatest manager and it's not even close. Ultimately however, it was time for him to go. Just don't expect any new manager to be that much different. We're still gonna bitch about the lineups and bullpen decisions.

I wish him well, wherever he goes.
