Escobar has a lengthy criminal record that includes arrests for assault, burglary and trespassing in the Houston area, court records show. He was imprisoned in Texas from 1995 to 2000 after a burglary conviction, Hayes said. In one of those cases, records show, a judge questioned Escobar’s competency to stand trial...

Late Tuesday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Escobar was ordered removed from the U.S. by a federal immigration judge in February 1988, and was deported to El Salvador six times between 1997 and 2011. ICE said Escobar has six felony convictions for burglary and illegal reentry.

What would the correct policy be?

I don't know. If it were plausible that government could be competent, I'd suggest that we put our efforts into preventing illegal immigration.

Definitely, too bad our government is inept.

stories like this add more fuel to the "let's build a wall" fire.

Do you really think a wall will keep anyone out?

I don't know. Let's find out.

Estimated cost is $25 Billion  (with one Democratic report estimating $70 Billion), that is one pricey experiment.    I'd rather see that money go to our aging infrastructure.

Good point. Because the bullet train is a big waste of money, we should waste even more money on a wall that may or may not keep anyone out.

I like how he understands that the wall is a waste of money just like the bullet train is.

i am absolutely in favor of tightening up our borders. i have no idea if a wall is the best way to accomplish that.

in places where there's already a wall in place, i'd like to know how effective it is. is it working? if not, why not? what would work better?

i think there are places where have some kind of barrier in place would be very helpful in preventing people from crossing into the country illegally, especially in pretty remote areas.

whaddaya think? what would you do?

Make Mexico Great Again

That way, people won't be so desperate to leave.

Trump is doing just that.  The new president of Mexico and Trumps interests align closely.  New trade deal came together quickly.
