Since everyone is creating threads about different 3rd baseman, Even Jeff Fletcher has created one ( Maybe he knows something), here another one.

Nick Castellano, i think he's an better opinion than Will Myers.  He dominated Lefties as well.

My initial reaction (not sure what his contract looks like, or his in depth numbers), but I would make Castellanos a top target for 3B.  This guy knows how to mash.

I didn't realize that he hasn't played 3B this year and I think there is a good reason, 18 errors in 129 games at 3B in 2017.

If Pujols wasn't still on the roster, could be a nice 1B option (assuming learning to play it well enough).

Wil Myers with five errors in 27 games at third this year. 

It's math, but I think Myers numbers are worse.

Yea...Wil literally just started playing third base this year 3/4 of the way through the season though, so he deserves some slack on that.

But yea, Castellanos would be pretty cool to pencil into the line up behind Pujols.

The sooner Pujols comes to an agreement with Arte on how to pay out the remaining $59 million after 2019, and then retire after 2019, the better.

He can play 40 games at 1B and DH 10 games, get his 2000 rbis, and then ride off into the sunset.    These many injuries are telling him that it's time to retire.

We know that both guys are an liability on defense, But there value comes in there bats. Personally i would take Castellanos over Myers.

As soon as Eppler stops caring about run prevention, then yeah, Castellanos is a fine third baseman to have.  Oddly enough, many good teams don't give a crap about run prevention.

really?  Castellanos is our replacement for Albert?  geh.  

he's one of the worst defenders in the history of baseball.  negative two wins at a corner OF spot? that's hard to do.  

he's probably 16th on my list of players to trade for.  maybe 30th or 60th.  just no.

There's "not caring about run prevention" and then there's "actively trying to sabotage the pitching staff". 

Trading for Castellanos is the latter.

Granted, he of course isn't #1 on my list of acquisitions.
