Fernandez has been hitting 7th or 8th depending on the pitcher. Seven would be the perfect spot in the lineup for Albert at this point in his career if, and when, he plays again. Avg. OPS for a number 7 hitter in the AL this year is .689. Albert still has the ability to be an average to above average number 7 hitter, but this batting cleanup, or 5th, crap just has to end.

Would rather see Ohtani hitting 4th, but it's a lefty pitching for Texas, so I suppose I should just be grateful that he's in the lineup.

He hit a bomb off Mike Minor last week too.

Isnt JMF a rookie with 6 years of club control?

Ended up googling it and it was what I was thinking:

"Jose Miguel Fernandez signed a 1 year / $545,000 contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, including $545,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $545,000. "

He's a free agent signing. The Dodgers signed him as a free agent in 2017 and released him in November. The Angels then signed him as a free agent. No rookie service time or team control rules apply to Fernandez.

Thanks, that was what i was thinking. Read an article when he was signed and have been rooting for the guy through the year. Just waiting for a little of his power to to emerge in the bigs
