Windy.com shows the storm hitting southern NC, then spinning down the coast towards GA for two days. Rain totals should be off the charts. Just crazy.

heard a projection of at least 35 inches of rain expected.

that's two years worth of rainfall for SoCal when we're not having a drought.

MLB is forcing the Cubs to go to DC tomorrow to make up a game that was rained out this past weekend.

The Cubs have petitioned that the game be moved to a neutral site or played Oct 1st, but the MLBFO has so far refused. Tomorrow was to be the Cubs first off day after 23 straight playing days....because of some other make up games. Manfred's precious post season schedule must be kept intact at all costs.

Cant wait till they fly into DC tomorrow and the game is canceled anyhow (probable) and then the plane can't get out of D.C. (very possible).

Stay Tuned..

They should just play the game at Cashman field.  Test out the interest in Sin City for when the A's move.

National Weather Service is measuring waves as high as 83 feet in the hurricane, using a satellite altimeter.

An average story in a building is 10 feet.   That's a 8 story building.  And I don't see 8 story buildings on the coast of the Carolinas.  To put it in comparison.  The Japan Tsunami was 128 feet, and the largest recorded storm surge was 47.6 feet, and the largest recorded wave from a hurricane/cyclone was 98.4 feet.  You should not play a game of chicken with Mother Nature.  She doesn't blink or swerve.

Washington Post in a lead editorial is blaming Trump for Florence.

Mental illness is a sad thing to observe in a once-great newspaper.

Hurricanes never existed before Trump

Oh good grief.  This is the stupid stuff that the Trumpers can focus on to show how the media is against him.

Dumbasses.

THE MEDIA ALWAYS HYPES THESE THINGS UP. IRMA WAS SUPPOSED TO COMPLETELY DESTROY ALL OF MIAMI AND NOTHING HAPPENED. FLORENCE WILL CAUSE VERY MINIMAL DAMAGE.

Completely wrong. Irma destroyed Puerto Rico and many other islands. Katrina obliterated New Orleans and Houston is still recovering from Harvey.

The National Weather Service and officials use the media to get the word out. In Miami, I would argue that many lives were saved and damage was mitigated because of the preparation.

Rizzo travels in full uniform ready to play at a moments notice.

Last weekend, Mother Nature didn't smile too kindly upon the Cubs and the Nationals as their series in the nation's capital was shortened by rainstorms. As a result, the Cubs flew from Chicago back to D.C. in the middle of a homestand late Wednesday night for a single game against the Nats on Thursday, after which they'll return immediately to Wrigley Field for a three-game weekend set against the Reds.
