Haven't followed football much the last couple years, so a couple random comments:

1) Patrick Mahomes is good at football.

2) Nice to see the Broncos with some fight in them this year. A nice young offensive core. They need a QB, though. I like Keenum in Doug Flutie fun to watch sort of way, but he really should be a back-up.

3) Brock Osweiler: Bullet dodged.

The Keenum contract was for 2 years and if they go after another starting QB they can cut him and take a 10M cap hit.  Not ideal but at least they have an out and any Bronco fan who isn't a complete homer knew he wasn't the long term answer when he signed.  That said I don't think Flacco who will be 34 to start next season is the long term answer either.  The Broncos already indirectly paid Flacco enough money when Rahim Moore blew the coverage in the 2012 playoffs and gave up one of the worst TD's I've ever seen.  Ravens went on to win the Super Bowl and Flacco got a 120M contract of which 52M was guaranteed.

Arguably the top QB prospect in college football Herbert announced he's staying for his senior season at Oregon so an already thin QB draft class just got a lot thinner.  Denver will be getting a new coach and I don't think they're a veteran QB away from a deep playoff run so hopefully they try to build for the future.  If there's a QB they like in later rounds draft him and let him hold a clipboard for a year.

Marvin Lewis is finally out in Cincinnati. I figured that he was a lifer, regardless of how well they did.

Jacksonville is bringing back their entire coaching staff, despite the total ineptitude of the offense. Blake Bortles is likely gone, one year after they incompetently gave him a three-year extension coming off a fluke season in 2017. They had a whopping 119 yards of total offense in scoring three points against the Texans yesterday, with 30 yards rushing.
