Random thought: could Justin Upton end up with the most K's ever?

I guess I'd never paid attention to how frequently he struck out.  He'll end this season with somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,710-1,715 Ks, assuming he plays most of the rest of the way (don't know how serious the concussion is). The career record is Reggie Jackson's 2,597.  Upton just turned 31 last week and has averaged over 160 K a year over the last 6 seasons.

Anyway, just a random early-morning observation.

He is already number 38 on the all time list. Over a full season, he is a lock for 160+. If he stays healthy the next 4 years, he is probably good for 650 to 700 more, which would put him somewhere near Adam Dunn for third place all time (with 2379). He probably need another two seasons after that to catch Reggie, which might be hard to do given his age.

Upton will only be 35 when the contract ends.

He'll break it and then Trout will break his record in 10 years.

Giancarlo Stanton is young enough and good enough in other areas to last long enough to surpass Reggie, too, assuming he stays healthy.
