Position players:

Shohei Ohtani - 143 ops+ in 266 PA with 1.8 WAR

David Fletcher - 240 PA.  .683 ops but 1.4 WAR due to 1.0 dWAR.

Briceno 0.4 WAR

Arcia 0.4 WAR

Ward 0.2 WAR in his first 52 PA.  defensive metrics like him so far.

JMF 0.1 WAR

Hermosillo -0.4 WAR

Pitching:

Barria 1.6 WAR before tonight.  leads the team.

Ohtani 1.2 WAR giving him a combined 3.0 WAR

Justin Anderson 0.7 WAR.

Buttrey 0.2 WAR in 6.1 ip.  looks promising

Jerez -0.3 WAR.  control very shaky.

Taylor Cole 0.2 WAR.  solid potential.

Hansel Robles 0.2 WAR.

So, health permitting, that's two rotation arms, three, many four pen arms, and potential for at least two lineup spots. Not confident that Arcia/Briceno are the answer at C, but they've done well defensively.

Have a feeling we're going to be disappointed with the 9/1 callups.  Would love to see Suarez, Canning, Rengifo, Walsh but I doubt we see any of them.

Best rookie class in a long time.

The 2002 & 2006 Rookies are still my favorite. Lackey/Donnelly/K-Rod in 2002. Weaver/Napoli/Kendrick/Kotchman/Saunders/Aybar in 2006.

Who would have thought Kendrick would be the one still playing. I would have bet on Weaver or Napoli as a DH to still be playing.

Can Barria finish third behind Andujar and Ohtani for AL ROTY?

Solid 3.40 ERA, and pitches like a 5 year veteran.

Barria has the balls Garret Richards never had. Imagine if Barria could throw 98 what he could do with it.

I imagine Gleyber Torres would finish ahead of him, too.  Maybe even Ryan Yarbrough, if people just look at his wins.

In before FS says, “then he could have TJ surgery too, it’s the Angels after all”

It does seem like the Angels pitchers who throw harder have the most problems staying healthy or head issues.

CJ had head issues, he didn't throw that hard, but yea for the most part you are probably right.

Which makes Ervin Santana's durability amazing, somehow he's still pitching in MLB while Weaver & Saunders are done.

Santana was a lock for having a good season followed by a shitty one & then a good season again. He'd have crazy splits like CY when at home & Blanton-ish on the road

Shohei is already a star with the potential to be a mega-star.

Barria is a solid #3-4 starter.

Ward, Fletcher, Hermosillo, and Fernandez all look like fringe starters or very good bench players, with the chance to be average plus regulars.

Briceno and Arcia both look like solid to good second string catchers (I'm hoping for Grandal).

Buttrey, Jerez, and Anderson all look like good bullpen pieces, maybe upsides of being setup men but probably not closers.

Robles is not a rookie, btw. Seems like relatively typical middle reliever journeyman.

Cole is interesting and could be a nice sleeper pick to be a good swingman/sixth starter.

So yeah, a nice crop.

Of the potential call-ups, Rengifo has me the most excited. He is one of my very favorite prospects in the org and my top pick to be the second baseman of the future. I think we'll see Walsh as well, maybe Suarez, but probably not Thaiss or Canning.
