Timing of Gary Sanchez DL assignment -- just a week before the trade deadline -- could prompt the Yankees into looking at catching alternatives in the next week. LAA's Martin Maldonado could be a fit, for example.

#Yankees have emerged as clear front-runner for #Orioles’ Britton, sources tell The Athletic. NYY scratched RHP Dillon Tate from his start tonight at Double A. As always, no deal is complete until all medicals are approved by both clubs.

Looks like the Yanks are adding more along with Dillon Tate, their number 10 prospect in a pretty deep farm system. Angels should definitely be looking to sell any bullpen pieces teams show interest in.

Trivino is bound to fall off a bit, AO. He's a lot better than I thought he was, though.

Treinen...I don't know how anyone hit this guy before. His sinker goes 96-98 and it drops about two feet. The crazy thing is..the Nationals still won the deal..because I think Sean Doolittle is the most underrated pitcher the past decade.

Doolittle's career 0.89 WHIP, 6.5/1.0 Ks/BBs, and 380 Ks in 320 innings are beyond sick.    He's actually been healthy enough, aside from missing most of 2015.

Definitely one of those "both sides won" trades

Yankees already had an elite bullpen, now they have Zach Britton.

Before this trade, I picked the Yankees to win the WS this year.

If they can add a quality starting pitcher, I would be a lot more comfortable with that pick.
