"The Office" series finale

Time to put this thing to bed. It had a good run, but has been brutal for years now.

 

Steve Carrell DID make it back.

Not sure why Carrell even showed up for this. They couldn't at least give him a few more lines?

They probably couldn't afford the fee for giving him more lines. NBC has one truly successful show right now (The Voice) and is trying to find ways to promote and propel ratings for their other shows. They need a complete overhaul of their program development team. NBC dominated all throughout the 90s. Everything they touched was gold. They have been bottom dwellers since.

Stopped being good after season 4.

Seasons 5 and 6 were still pretty good. Season 8 was funnier than I expected too. Dwight and Jim carried the show.

Steve Carell didn't have more lines because they didn't want to down play his farewell episode.  They felt that episode was the best send off for Michael Scott and said all along that if Steve Carell did come back for the finale, that it would be very small

The show never stopped being good. It just wasn't as funny from start to finish as the first few episodes were.

 

That's pretty much the case with any show on TV
