If they allowed presidential voting from your phone everybody would vote.

Does anyone have a good reason why they’d let you vote 25 times per email address?   Seems pretty silly to me.   How bout once per email address?  Or how bout for each email address they’ll count it as 25 votes?   I understand the irony of what I’m about to say, but it seems like a colossal waste of time.

Marketing.  The want the most popular players in the game.

One vote from a 40 yr old mom is not equal to one vote from a 12 year old kid.  It matters much more to the 12 yr old.  So they can capture the volume of passion for each player by allowing multiple votes.

40 yr old mom votes once.

12 yr old kid votes the full 25 votes.

So the player the kid likes wins since there is so much more passion to see that player, even contained in one fan.

When you are married, you make decisions like this all the time.

I have a definite preference between two paint colors for the bedroom.  My wife has a different choice.

In a vote we are ties 1-1.

But I know it matters way more to her than me so let her pick the color.  That created the most volume of happiness.

The All Star game is trying to achieve the most volume of happiness and satisfy the most passionate.
