Of course, my point is that without the viral video element of this, the issue could have calmed down.  She could have had time to make it right.  I think the immediacy of the internet just makes things worse.

With the options open to everyone, each person with an account is essentially a writer and a television station. The immediate availability of content to people all over the world make it difficult to overcome situations like this.

People need to start being billed for calling the cops for this kind of stuff.  They have better uses for their service.  You would think seeing all this on social media would make them think, I don't want to be a dumb ass, but no it makes them do it more.

I feel this would invoke the law of unintended consequences and end up being applied disproportionately to the demographics people are trying to help.

Let's be honest here the question at least on my mind is would she have done this if the little girl was white?

No, she most certainly would not have done so. But people of color are bad and to be feared. I know this because the President says it on a weekly basis, and a huge percentage of Americans accept it as gospel.

That huge percentage needs to get woke!  Everyone knows that it's white males that are to be feared above all others!

I agree that without modern technology, many people would not be held accountable for their actions.

But people arent really being held accountable in general, only those that represent demographics that arent popular with the media are.

Every race/religion/ethnicity has its assholes, yet the coverage of such things is decidedly one sided.  Thats not a technology issue, thats a coverage issue.

We are being told that bias is now acceptable, as long as it falls within certain parameters.

As if liberal whites feel safe when a group of black teens in hoodies are walking towards them at night.

Sooo ... white people

No, not just white people, why is everything racist to you?    This to me is really part of the problem, people are becoming accustomed to equating political partisan potions to races/sexes/religions, and that should never be the case.

The media is decidedly liberal leaning currently, primarily Democrat in nature.  The bias is against anything on the Republican or conservative side.

...and before you again say "so white people", that isnt the intent at all anymore than saying illegal immigration is a uniquely Hispanic concern.

I remember a few years ago during one of the spring fan fests where Chuck had members do recorded interviews and Kurt was one of them. I'm disappointed Kurt wasn't more like his board persona on camera. It is great reading his posts but I would have loved to have heard some of his schtick on camera.

When I get together with Chuck I was likely 40 fireballs deep at the time.  Don't even count the 40 heinekens.
