Trout and the high fastball

I don't get to watch a lot of games. I know the high pitch is his "weakness" and he prefers low pitches, but I'd like to know if he can hit them at certain speeds.

I would never throw Trout a fastball anywhere near the strike zone.

He has been called out several times on high fastballs supposedly in the strike zone.

He lays off most of them until he has to. Every once in awhile he'll get called on it for strike three or gets beat. Most times he takes them for a ball or fouls them off.

So generally he won't offer at them?

Yes, generally, not early in the count.

The great and amazing thing about Trout is that he will most likely get better at hitting this pitch.

When they said he struck out too much - he worked on it and cut down on the K's.

When they said his arm wasn't strong - he worked on it and improved it.

When they said his defense wasn't great - he worked on it and improved it.

He's scary that way...

With today’s home plate umpiring every pitch becomes questionable. We have no idea what a strike is anymore. I think Trout has to adjust his personal strike zone every game.
