Pronger pulled a Lebron, he wanted to go to Anaheim to play with Niedermayer & Beauch to form the most stacked D of the late 2000s.

BTW.  Different topic.  But I believe this is the last year that Pronger is on someone's books.  I think it might be Arizona.

Wow, that explains why Arizona is suddenly spending.

I heard Calgary is going to get Maroon, they are officialy the most Goon team in the league: Neal/Tkachuk/Giordano/Maroon.

Its very Brian Burke to put together that group for the Flames. Reminds of when the Burke era Ducks had Pronger/May/Moen/Shawn-Thornton/Fedoruk/O'Brien/O'Donnell as the Goon-est team of the NHL. It seemed like every playoff series in 07 had Pronger or May getting suspended lmao

The Avalanche can offer Ottawa back the first rounder they got for Duchene as a starter for a  Karlsson deal and maybe add Barrie to the package. From everything I’ve read they had more interest in John Carlson but either would be a good get

I'm wondering if Ryan is still part of the Karlsson trade.  4 year $7.25 million per.   The rumor is Karlsson is 8 years/$10 million per.  That's $18.25 million per year for a team to absorb.

Now Perry has 3/$8.625 million.  And he's from a small town in between Toronto and Ottawa.

Maybe the Ducks being involved isn't that far fetched.  Would a Kase/Rico/Ryan line be better or worse than a Kase/Rico/Ritchie line?

What if then the Ducks flip Ryan with retention to Carolina who needs to reach salary floor ?

Floor is $58.8 million.  According to Capfriendly, Teams at the floor currently are surprisingly at the bottom, the Winnipeg Jets at $52.6 million, Rangers at $55.7, and devils at $56.4.  So it would seem that this season, it doesn't look like the floor will be an issue.

Sweet, we can flip Ryan to NJ instead after getting him in the Karlsson trade, he was born there.

Devils can put together a NJ line with Palmier/Ryan on the wings.

Looks like the Stars may get Karlsson lol. Dallas needs more Shutdown D types than an All offense type who won't help them reduce their GAA as well as better goalies, Bishop is declining very fast. Karlsson on their roster boosts their offense but doesn't do enough to help prevent other teams from scoring, they need a guy like Hjmarlson & Cole because they already got a younger Karlsson in Klingonberg.

Teams like San Jose, Anaheim, Tampa do a better job at limiting other teams from scoring (even with Anaheim's down year in failing to limit shots they have more shutdown guys than Dallas) that adding a guy like Karlsson will do alot for them.

For Vegas it'd be their first franchise Defensemen who would be a leader on the team & their first superstar.

Although if Wild Bill keeps scoring goals like he did last season he'll be one too.

NHL Rumors: The Montreal Canadiens and Max Pacioretty

Quote

Amir Basu: Dennis Bernstein was on TSN 690 and said that Canadiens had agreed on a six-year contract, $48 million contract extension with Pacioretty but the discussions fell apart, and they were going to trade him to the LA Kings but that deal hadn’t been finalized.

Damn.  When did the piggy banks get raided.  These free agent signings are stupid high.  And while Max had a string of 60 point seasons.  Giving someone a rumored $8 million a season after a 37 point season.

Yikes. Can you imagine what Gretzky, Dionne, Coffey, Lemieux, Kerri, and Messier would be worth in today's dollars?

It must be nice to have a semi competent GM who's not asleep to trade away bad contracts.

Marian Hossa's contract to Coyotes in multiplayer deal

To Phoenix

  • Marian Hossa  3 years, $5.275 million LTIR
  • Vinni Hinostraza 24 YO Center, 50 GP,  25 Pts, +5, 54.5/53.4, 2 years $1.5 million then RFA
  • Jordan Oesterle 26 YO Defenseman, 55 GP, 15 Pts, -11, 52.4/51.1, $650k then UFA
  • 2019 3rd round pick from Chicago

To Chicago

  • Marcus Kruger, 28 YO Center, 48 GP, 6 Pts, -6, 54/52.4, $2.775 million then UFA
  • MacKenzie Entwistle, 18 YO RW, OHL 49 GP, 38 Pts, +16
  • Jordan Maletta 23 YO Center, AHL 28 GP, 4 pts, +1
  • Andrew Campbell 30 YO Defenseman, AHL 60 GP, 6 pts, +7
  • 2019 5th round pick from Phoenix

So the Hawks pretty much get $2.5 million in cap relief, a pretty good prospect and give up a young centerman that Phoenix can ruin.

  • 2 weeks later...

So no matter how much we complain about the Ducks, Kings, Knights, or any other team.  There is Ottawa.  Who just signed Stone to a one year$7.25 million deal.  That means as of right now, Karlsson, Stone, and Duchene are going to be UFA's next season.
