The Islanders should have traded Tavares back when they had the chance.

Is Trout going to do the same thing, post a photo of himself with Phillies team logos in his room when he was a kid like Tavares did with Maple Leafs logos in his room ?

Its as if Tavares always had his mind set on joining the Leafs. Trotz should ask to have his contract terminated so he can go coach another team.

The islanders fucked this up massively.  As Angels fans this should be instructive for us.  Just a complete disaster to lose a guy like Tavares for nothing.

the fans are burning his jersey but the anger should be directed at the organization.  That’s where the true failure was.  It’ll be the same with Trout.  If the Angels can’t get him to sign sometime in the next 12-18 months. He must be traded.  Cannot risk the open market.  You will get fucked.  Just like the Islanders.

& The Phillies just happen to be a good team again, just in time for Trout to hit FA in a few years.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the Phillies.  The Angels control this right now.  Once the market gets set by Machado and Harper that’s it.  The Angels need to negotiate seriously.  That means talks to sign a deal.  If Trout doesn’t want to do that then they need to trade him.  It’s that simple. 

Anyway.  Wrong place to talk about this.  My point is, the Islanders fucked up.  They should not have allowed their super star to get to the open market on them.

I feel like the Sharks are going to get Karlsson, probably a 3way trade where a team wanting to stay at salary floor (Carolina) gets Bobby Ryan as part of the trade with Carolina getting a pick/prospect from San Jose & then other assets to Ottawa for Karlsson. Ottawa clears out alot of salary & gets picks/prospects.

Ottawa's owner likes to be cheap & them being able to clear out Ryan's contract is a big incentive to send Karlsson to SJ if SJ gets Carolina to take Ryan.

Their Top3 Dmen will be Karlsson, Burns & Vlasic. Scary good.

Geeze 5 years, $5.75 per for Neal.  He's a Duck killer.  But that really is a high amount for 44 and 41 points the last 2 seasons.  Makes me wonder if Perry's 49 points is more movable now, eating just a little bit of salary.

All 10 of their fans burn JT’s jersey. There was no way a talent like John was going to stay with that minor league organization. Good for him, and shame on Garth Snow for doing NOTHING! No wonder they hired the great Lou Lamoriello to fix that mess.

But that is what a longtime trusted source told me about Pacioretty. It's 100% and it is coming...Florida remains the leading candidate, but Tampa and Nashville are also involved.
