I know it's irrational, but I'd have a hard time not taking a break from the team for a year or two after. He's the first player for the team I've rooted for and believed in since the minors. My buddy got me back into baseball in 2005-2006 and so Weaver was the first player I felt that kind of attachment to in adult life, and while I still appreciate that, it's a whole different thing to see an all time great (that plays every day) and have to watch him go elsewhere. You could tell me we somehow got Vlad Jr, Acuna, Albies and Harper in a trade for Trout and while that would be absurdly amazing on paper, I'd probably be bummed for a month. Fandom isn't always rational, and that's part of why I love it when my job and most other things in life have to be. 

This probably makes zero sense, just how I feel on the matter.
