Should Valbuena be DFA'd right now?

For who?  Everyone wants to call up half of SLC, how have any of them worked out so far? 
The problem is that we went into the season with a backup being forced to start.  Add to that backups getting way too much time.
We should have made more moves in the off season to shore up certain spots ,we didnt, it is what it is.

Looking at things logically... the plan was to have Pujols play 1B when Ohtani DH'd.  Cozart would be at 3B and Valubuena would get some spot starts; especially against right handers when Pujols was at DH.

He's been thrust into an every day role because of the various injuries.  First Kinsler was injured and Valbuena had to spend more time at 3B - when Cozart moved to 2B.  Simmons goes down - Cozart fills in at SS and Valabuena gets more games... Ohtani goes down - Pujols goes back to DH and Valbuena gets more AB's...

It was never the plan for Valubena to get this many AB's and starts.

I guess the true farm depth is still a year or so out from contributing?   In the meantime, more supreme suckiness from borderline MLB caliber players like Chris Old, Valnobuena, and Jabari BlashTrash!

It kind of was the plan though. Injuries are part of the game and to be expected. It's a long 162 game season. If they were not planning on that than that is silly. After all they kept Valbuena over Cron because Valbuena is such a stud defensively at 3b & 1b.

 

They had less injuries than they thought they would so they shipped Chris Carter off to Minnesota for cash considerations.

Yeah... right. So we are paying the guy $8,000,000 a year to sit his butt on the bench. If the plan was that than why would Valbuena have even signed with the Angels? This is a guy who 2 of the 3 previous seasons before signing with the Angels had 132 & 149 starts. The other year he was injured.Spot starts.... really? He was injured for a month last year and still played in 117 games. So basically when he was not injured he played 90% of the time.

Beg to disagree...We know Valbuena was going to be penciled in at least three days a week...Ohtani was not going to hit, before the day of and the day after he pitches.  So three games a week right there.....He was also going to play 3B when Cozart was off or when Cozart was giving time off to either Kinsler or Simmons and AP was not going to be playing every day.  

My guess is Valbuena was going to be a game five days at week at the minimum, which is six days a week too many.
