Would like to and still hope to check this out in theaters, but for sure at least DVD/BD. Enjoyed the 2009 version, and over the last couple weeks I watched the original 6 Star Trek movies for the first time, so I'm in a pretty decent mood to check this out.

Overall, I would agree, but I'd say there are more good Star Trek movies than there are Star Wars movies, so that counts for something.

I want to see this. I really liked how JJ Abrams did the first movie. He did a great job of making a film that appealed to a much wider demographic and created a lot of new Star Trek fans while staying loyal to the originals. The visuals are badass.

Really enjoyed the reboot and it's one of those movies I end up watching even when I come across it on network television like I did last night.  Theater's a few weeks after it's been out.

I hope he cuts back a bit on the lens flares in this one though. It's a cliche critique of his first one, and it doesn't bother me THAT much, but after rewatching the Star Trek reboot last week, it is pretty excessive and noticeable.

i wasn't a fan at all of any of the star trek series, but the movies have been good on their own merits. i never felt like i was missing any important puzzle pieces.

Just got back from seeing it. Wow. You crafty son of a bitch, JJ Abrams. I am beyond stoked for Star Wars with him calling the shots. Did a fantastic job with this movie.

I've never seen the 2009 movie. Up until then, the Star Trek franchise traded upon characters and actors carried over from the television series (either TOS or TNG). It seems surreal to me seeing new actors playing old characters.
