Another idea:

Trout as player/manager. Why not? He's probably the smartest guy on the field, as well as the best.

They used to do this all the time. Rogers Hornsby, Ty Cobb, Mickey Cochrane, so many more. Cap Anson was a player/manager for 23 seasons. In more recent times, Frank Robinson.

Maybe not, but they also have not explicitly said they do not want to manage in the big leagues over what they are doing now, like Erstad has openly said. . .unless you think he is a liar.

So the names I mentioned are all actually more realistic suggestions.

But if you want to just stay in the knee jerk throw a name out there game:

How about Appier?!

Davanon?!

Fullmer?!

Alex Ochoa?!

Wooten?!

Rob Wilfong?!

Brad Fullmer ! He can do his roid rage when he gets pissed off at umpires. What about Quinlan, he'd hire Gary Matthews Jr. as his bench manager, Ryan Budde as hitting coach, Dustin Moseley as pitching coach, Izturis as 3B coach & Casey Kotchman as 1B coach.

I'd rather have Mathis bat leadoff for the Angels than manage them, his .313 OBP in 2018 is higher than Kinsler's .279

Why?   I would bet money on Mathis being a manager in the bigs at some point.
