NO shit results don’t lie.  But you can sit here and bitch and moan and pretend it is all because of Scioscia but bottom line it is much deeper than that. This isn’t basketball where one player gets you into the playoffs.  And this nonsense about Harper or Machado is just that nonsense.  If they don’t sign here it will have nothing to do with Scioscia.  Scioscia is your boogie man which is sad because you are a grown up.

No, you should look at it the other way. He's your savior that can do no wrong. You make excuses for his missteps. That's on you. At the end of the day we have 0 playoff wins in 8 years. You going to tell me we've just had bad luck this whole time? It couldn't possibly be the fact that we've been poorly managed for a long time? Maybe once the Viagra wears off you will have a clear head and can see this from a very logical point of view. No playoff wins = bad management.

We are so close!

We just need these small things:

1. Pujols to retire

        a. Find replacement for Pujols

2. Replace Kinsler

3. Replace Cozart

4. Replace Calhoun

5. Add 2-3 relievers (for 7-8th innings)

6. Add a closer

That's it. It's simple. Get on it Eppler.

I know you jest, but this is actually a better ball club if you replace Pujols, Kinsler, Valbuena and Calhoun with Fernandez, Fletcher, Blash and Hermosillo.

LMAO they're over .500 and it is May. Fans are hilarious

Except the team is 13-19 in their last 32 games and plummeting quickly towards .500.

I don’t disagree that it is bad management, I disagree it is bad field management.  The teams have been poorly constructed.  As for he being my savior, no I defend him against the ridiculous people.  I wanted him fired a few years ago.  I don’t care if he gets fired today.  I don’t care if he comes back next year.  With that being said, it would bring me great joy to see him come back next year because of the affect it has on people on here.

Remember when this team was firing on cylinders and you posted something about THIS team being different...    THIS team wasn't as good as it was then, it's not as bad as it's been playing now.

The rotation has been good, the offense is being dragged down by some black holes -- the pen is a legitimate weakness.

I'm just looking forward to them finally playing someone bad.   Only 9 games so far against teams worse than 2 games under .500, does make for a tough schedule.

They are 9-0 in those games vs bad teams.

Nice cutoff point so the crappy Rays who took 3 of 4 against us didn't have to be included. Haha

You made it for me. You have multiple projections giving different results. If they were all using the correct baseline they would come to the same conclusion. There is the bias. You have assumed outcomes based on different factors.

This is a monumentally stupid response.   Look, save everyone the time and please..  educate yourself...  https://www.fangraphs.com/library/principles/projections/  Projections don't try to do what you think they do..   You're woefully ignorant of what they attempt to do or how they're meant to be used.

They are 9-0 in those games vs bad teams, with 7 games vs Detroit and Texas next week.

Can't ask for much more than playing the Blue Jays. They were 5-13 in the month of May before playing us and are 3-7 in their last 10. This is a series this team should win.

They came out yesterday and flopped -- was one of the worst showings of the year.  Losing the game because someone "lost it in the lights" is the sort of crap that sucks the life out of me...

Yeah, I agree they're better than 13-19. But they don't look like the 90+ win team they looked like in April.

I'm worried that Scioscia's allegiance to the veterans may continue to drag the offense down. We need to see at least a couple of those guys put out to pasture.

And Eppler will do that when he sees fit.  I don’t think Mike is running things quite like he used to.

In summary: we are an average team

as we expected

Or we're a good team and in a slump.

The Astros who were the best last season went through a good 3-4 week slump at one point.

They should have a great chance to get the 2nd wild card spot and I would be thrilled with that result.

Yea, let's be honest here, that's what was the realistic goal heading into the season anyway. We weren't going to get first in a division with the Astros in it.

That team is better than us in every single aspect of the game and was better than us in every single aspect of the game before the season started.

But since this team went on a tear at the beginning of the year as opposed to posting their usual 6-18 April record, people in here had full on boners and thought we had a chance at the division.

I got a boner but still knew we weren't going to win the division.

Don't tell that to Storm or he may tell you to eff off.
