Who’d they trade him for? What logjam?

Probably $1, and the AAA logjam of infielders of Ward, Thaiss, Fernandez, Fletcher, Fontana, Johnson, Cowart, Ackley, and arguably, Houchins who deserves to be there too.

Marte, Pujols, and Valbuena have it covered at the bigs.

I could not figure out why Carter was in the Halos Spring Training Camp in the first place........I mean, he had a pretty good Spring but with Pujols, Valbuena, Ohtani as a DH and we also had Cron on the roster -- there was no place for another 1B/OF/ DH type player on our roster........Carter was more of a 4-A player at SLC -- insurance.

Good for Carter - he will fit well in Minnesota and will get the opportunity to crank out a few multi-HR games.

The Halos acquiring Carter (well, ST invite) was the classic version of adding a guy to the roster that just kills you at the plate.  Carter probably hit .500 vs. Halos pitching over the years and had his share of multi-HR games against us -- I remember him hitting three in one game against us.  Carter just seemed to hit a ton against us.

I wish him well in Minnesota.  He is being assigned to the Red Wings? They haven't made the playoffs the past three season -- oh wait, it's not Detroit.

They added Carter after trading Cron.

They basically filled the same role except Carter could stay in the minors till you needed him and Cron couldn’t.
