Question about 2B

At least Upton has been looking better - I was more concerned with left than 2b.

If he can be adequate defensively, I think Fernandez is probably the long term solution....maybe sooner rather than later if Kinsler continues to struggle.....I think Kinsler gets a lot of rope....but Fernandez can shorten the rope if he keeps it up at SLC....

Yes 2B is considered a middle base. 3B is too if you count home plate as a real base but it is not if you think about it because it is nearly completely flat and not inflated like the other bases.

Hard to believe he was the starting 2B less than 2 years ago.  Feels like a decade.   He's apparently now at AAA with the Marlins.

Move LB/Marte to 3b and bring up Carter to take LB/Marte current role. 

Revisit trading for Ceasar Hernandez

Trade for Starlin Castro

Trade for Moose and move Cozart to 2b.

Kick the tires on Machado and see if it is somewhat reasonable. They can't just let him walk can they?

Long term I think the plan is to have Cozart there.  So if we go out and get someone it will be a third baseman.  Most likely we'll try some in-house options before it gets to that point.
