The Blowpen

Gotta make due with what they got for a bit until teams start shopping players. Gonna need to add somebody to the backend of the pen via trade for sure, maybe even add another middle reliever option too

I keep looking at Herrera from KC as a legitimate option. Last year of his deal, Royals stink out loud....he's gonna be available

It's a problem.  You just can't win in the playoffs without a solid bullpen no matter how good the offense.  Too many offensive juggernaut teams in October.

The KC Royals have shown how important bullpens are.

The Angels have Trout, Ohtani and Simmons. They better not waste them.

Realistically Angels are a year away.  Still need to shore up starting pitching and bull pen.

Wow what an absolutely disgusting performance by Jim Johnson, 2 blown saves by him... that’s wonderful. Poor offense fights back 3 times and still can’t win

There's a reason why he was only 4th in line for saves, because he was awful as a closer in Atlanta last year.

We’re not going to get to October with this pen....just isn’t very good...you can work around things sometimes but not a bad pen...

The BP is average.  There is nothing elite or noteworthy about anyone in there...just a collection of middle relievers.  It's nice the starting pitching is coming around and the offense/defense is good but the BP is a weakness and they will continue to lose games like this unless Eppler makes some moves.

Yes, our bullpen isn't anything special, but I think we gotta give credit to the M's as well. They grind out PAs now, and their offense isn't the usual cakewalk we have gotten used to seeing for so long.

Cano isn't the hit or miss hacker anymore, and Dipoto's trade for Segura and Haniger looks completely genius so far.

Also, why were the Angels pitching to Healy anyway? You had a .188 hitter coming up, with the winning run on second, and first base open. People kill Scioscia for his shortcomings often, I'm surprised this one is going unnoticed.

To me , it seemed like the Mariners wanted this game more.

Johnson earned the save last night, just didn't get it. The pitch Gamel got the first hit on in the 10th was great; low and away. He just hit it. Happens. After the sacrifice, got a nice infield grounder to Marte who..... I dunno what that was.  Shoulda ended in the 10th, 7-6 halos.
