Looking at the MLB.com tracker, there’s quite a discrepancy between draft order and their pre-draft rankings. I know that’s not totally unusual but it is surprising that guys like Singer and Liberatore are passed up so far.

I had assumed the same as well. Perhaps it's more a handshake agreement with the possibility he could still bolt for the NFL if he has a Heisman type of season this year. Shades of what the Celtics did when drafting Larry Bird back in the day?

The Rangers need SP bad, and the Rays lost three top prospect arms to TJ surgery. You know they're getting a couple of those guys here.

I don't know. I just assume he can't play for the A's if he doesn't sign before the deadline and can't play in the NCAA if he's under contract with the A's.

I have to imagine Eppler snags up Gorman if he happens to fall this far. The same thing happened with Jo Adell in 2017.

I think it'll be similar to what we ended up doing with Torii Hunter Jr.  We signed him, with the understanding that he would finish his senior season for football, then start his baseball career after that.

Yeah. Really wanted Winn, but I'd be thrilled with Libertore, Singer, or a couple of other arms.
