It’s not that I “gave up” on it as much as I’m a realist and I have known since the end of last season that the Angels really didn’t have the means to compete with Houston for the division title. 

 

I mean Eppler has done a terrific job but how do you build a starting staff like Houston’s or Boston’s without destroying the farm system he has worked so hard to rebuild?
