I went with Upton. When everyone around him is hitting it’s a good sign that he can take 3 walks. In this lineup nobody should feel the pressure to drive in all the runs

I took Skaggs. He battled and only gave up 1 ER. Any pitcher that gets a QS in this day’s game is deserves a medal.

I took J up.  He was awful last night but didn't panic.  On base 4 times.  Legit star.  Not a super star, but just really good.  The missing link really.

I'm with TDawg - Scioscia has my vote, although not an option. Pushed all the right buttons, made all the right moves. Got some key guys a breather, some guys we're going to need later some work (and they produced), talked Skaggs off a cliff, and generally did what a manager should do; put the team in position to succeed over the long haul.

I was listening at work on the radio, didnt see any of the game. But terry and langaton mentioned a few times that scioscia had a few stern chats with skaggs throughout the game. Sounded like it was needed. If so, the results bode well for sosh.

Skaggs was not pitching with any respect for the lead his offense afforded him. He wasted so many damn pitches and that has got to stop between him and Richards. 

Years ago the mantra the pitching staff was given was to get the batter out in four pitches or less. Skaggs and Richards piss away 0-2 counts all night long, giving the batter more opportunities to get on base by either a walk or teeing off on a mistake. In doing so they tire themselves out and reveal every pitch in their arsenal and their sequencing and the defense is wearing out getting in the ready mode for another 7 pitch at bat. Four innings in and they are at 85 pitches. Where they should be in the 7th. 

They need to pay team fines for every wasted 0-2 that goes 3-2 and doubled if results in a walk.

Skaggs just couldn't locate his pitches.  He was extremely lucky to get out with only one run.  If the game was close, he probably would have been pulled in the third inning which would have sucked because we probably need the pen today.

Yea, what happened to Richards letting his stuff do the work and pitching to contact a little bit more?

I dont think it's a quality start because he didn't go 6 innings.
