Beating the shift isn't easy... great insight from 3 current major leaguers.

Pretty interesting read.

We can disagree with the thought process, but coming from the guys actually doing it counts more than what we say. And im sure its not just the players, but coaches and front office people as well.

It's time to go back to the old approach that made the angels successful from 2002-2009.

What made the Angels successful in that time period was a combination of what the scouting department did 10 years previously and Arte spending up to the salary cap.

So where we are at is the Angels moving from the 90's to the next decade in player development and aquisitions.

Don’t forget talent, depth and a bullpen.

The fact that anyone misses Cron at all, speaks volumes about the state of this team today.   The Angels really do suck right now.

I understand why we traded him, but he was never really given a full season to see how he would preform here. He's is getting that chance in TB. Sure he is streaky, so are a lot of players. At the end of the season he will have decent STATs though.

He was 3-4 again today, after going 3-4 two days ago. He already has his best season ever and it isn't even the AS break.

C.J. Cron .253/.326/.475/.801 - 18 HR - 46 RBI

OK, now everyone can tell me why he is no good or how he disappears for weeks at a time. I've hear it all before. The fact is is still better than what we kept.
