Yeah and being it was cold as balls out there, I'm not worried about 93-94 MPH heaters for his first start.

The leadoff double should have been caught too. EYJr was tracking it and then just stopped and watched it land right next to him. I assume he lost track of it in the sun at the last second

Yep. Trout would have had that with his eyes closed.

No concern about the velocity in his first spring outing. He's building up arm strength and will likely be 95+ by the end of March

Shohei Ohtani allowed a run while recording two strikeouts and a foul popout in his first inning. His fastball ranged from 93-97 mph. He threw some nasty secondary pitches, including a particularly nice 69-mph curveball.

Not bad velocity for his first ST start. I'm fully expecting him to be hitting 100+ by April.
