Serious question (not trying to be snarky) ... how will this change humanity in the very near future?

It creates lots of new innovations that find their way into society. Simple things like pens that write upside down, Velcro, and Tang (the breakfast drink from the 60s) were all innovations that came from the space program that were practical.  There have also been big things in computers, engineering, and electronics that came from the early missions. I’ll see what else I can find after dinner.

I feel like I've read this before.

Since ULA pooped the bed on their launch last night of a Delta IV rocket SpaceX has been forced to delay one of their missions until tomorrow (Sunday). The cool news is that SpaceX has a Starlink mission scheduled for tomorrow as well so there is a chance that they will launch two Falcon 9 rockets in one day! First launch is at 7:12 am PDT and the second launch is at 4:18 pm PDT. Also tomorrow SpaceX is scheduled for a 150 meter hop of it's SN6 Starship prototype at it's Boca Chica, TX launch site. Busy day!

@Lhalo  Seems to happen a lot with ULA.  I'm also wondering why Space X seems to have stopped sending stuff up from Vandenberg.

Not sure why they prefer FL to CA. It might be simply the lower latitude. Eventually almost all SpaceX flights will be out of Boca Chica, TX. They recently put out an add to hire a resort builder. I assume that’s because they are looking toward space tourism and not only want to build a space port but a place to view the launches for the general public. We’ll see.

Could be a training center also.  Although the other question is why they would pick TX over CA for that.  hahahahahahahaha.  JK.
