Season Seat Early Pay Prize Incentive

Rochambeau

Recommended Posts

Got notified a while ago that we won a prize in the early pay incentive program for season seat holders.  A spring training trip?  No...  4 Diamond club seats with dinner?  No...

We won the fabulous prize of picking up our tickets in person.  Check that...  Driving an hour and half for the privilege of saving them the shipping cost.  Oh we've been promised refreshments and "special surprises".  They want me to drive there to sign "some paperwork" before they could arrange an appointment for me to then come pick up the tickets.  Got them to agree to fax me the papers I have to sign first, but they still haven't sent them to me.

To be honest, sounds like they are going to try to sell me a timeshare...  LOL

That's actually the reason I am posting...  I don't want to get suckered into driving all the way down there for something "special" and end up just meeting a prospect and getting pitched to buy something.

So I guess my question is:  Has anyone else won this "experience"?  Either this year or in prior years?

Thanks.

We've heard. Thanks for telling us again, as if the posters here have any sort of sway over the Angels' season ticket reps.

What, you're discounting the influence of social media, in this day and age? Very foolish. Just ask The Donald. Just ask Putin. Just ask Hillary.

Remember, this is pretty much the de facto "official" discussion board for the Angels after Arte axed the MLB one. I feel certain that the Angel brass and minions read this board. It can be a predictor of trends. We're savvy Angel fans around here.

Pujols alone makes like $40,000 per at bat.

I find it funny when season ticket holders threaten to starve the Angels of their like $1500 per ticket.

Yeah, ownership of the Marlins and the A's probably used to chortle about that, too.

Then, reality set in. Marlins attendance is down 30% from their World Series era.

Arte didn't axe the MLB forum. None of the teams have forums on their MLB sites anymore.

Weird. Is there any proof that it was Arte's decision to get rid of the boards? I think it's awesome that AngelsWin is the first result when you Google "Angels fan forum."

i seriously doubt the owner of a mlb franchise is even aware of the message boards, but i have no knowledge either way.

Of course they are. Who else would make the decision to axe your team's official discussion board? Maybe Tim Mead suggested it, but Arte would have to approve it. He just got tired of being hammered for his ownership.

I heard it had something to do with a suicide.

not true only the Angels and Cubs boards are missing. Although Arte didn't axe the Angels board, it was MLB.

for example the Astros board:

You're wrong, the boards are owned and operated by MLB. The teams only link to MLB's board they don't control it.
