In the postseason, he batted an empty .308, drawing one walk and recording zero extra-base hits in 28 plate appearances.

Here is what the author neglected to mention. In the NLCS Reddick was one of two to really show up at the plate against the Cubs going 4-11 for a .365 batting average. Of the players with 10 at bats or more, Reddick was 2nd on the team with a .727 OPS in that do or die series.

The leader was Andrew Toles at .462/.467/.615/1.082 Yeah, a household name, he's not on the 2017 roster.

The last series against the cubs had some nobodies step up, too. Kills me, but the dodgers have so much luck going for them this year.

also, i don't think the author understands what "empty" means in baseball. it's supposed to imply that although the batter hit .308 in his opportunities he recorded few to none in his rbi opportunities contained within those plate appearances. it essentially is used to suggest that the batter performed seemingly well, but not in the time the team needed it most. the author fails to mention his rbi opportunities, choosing to go with his "no extra base hits" comment, and i have no idea what those numbers look like, but i'd wager to guess neither does the author.
