Ya, definitely seems to be healthy again. We'll see how long it lasts, particularly since he wasn't exactly an ironman to begin with, but good for him.

Kazmir = 21 Ks and 3 BBs in past 17 innings (including ZERO today).

Reynolds = 1.012 OPS in 110 at bats so far, and even more impossible, just 32 Ks.

Nobody blamed Butcher for Kazmir's slide. He was damaged goods, and already had gone downhill prior to acquistion. What Butcher has been criticized for is his claim that he could 'fix' Kazmir and get him straightened out. Under Butcher's watch Kazmir showed no improvement at all. That is not necessarily Butcher's fault, Kazmir has to look inward for blame, but Mike Butcher certainly didn't help or become part of the solution either.

But, remember, he was terrible with the Rays in the beginning of 2009.  His solid performances with us were the outliers, if anything.

I wouldn't expect Cleveland to be out of it, particularly with the second WC spot.  They're better than people thought and Detroit is not quite the powerhouse people thought.

Still, they are a very positive story right now, for the three reclamation projects plus Swisher's solid hitting.

It would be nice to have a pitcher like Cody Allen, who came in with the bases loaded and set the A's down 1-2-3 when they were rallying in the 8th.
