A coworker asked if I would feel comfortable wearing a political opinion I held on my shirt (making a point that conservatives take way more shit for their beliefs than liberals do). I told him "Gun control is an interesting idea, but if we really want to do something we should focus on hand guns and not assault riffles, meaning the real question is where as a society are we willing to balance the scale between the right to have guns and the reality of gun caused deaths - and that's before we even take into account the complexities of lowering the number of guns in America; also, mass shootings are not the problem, but suicides might be. Also, it seems like in the end this issue is more of a distraction and a rallying call for each side, and the real life policy implications of it are fairly meaningless, so this won't be a hill I die on" probably wouldn't fit on a shirt.
