I guess its not that easy being the yankees .....injuries to your SS, 1st base, CF, 3rd base, a monster contract weighing you down, an aging closer coming back from knee surgery and still you find a way to contend in the the east......

We angels tried the yankees approach of big money signing and flopped ....heck the yanks even stole vernon wells from us with the performance he's giving them now while we foot the lion's share of his contract!

I think the whole angry Arte / rotating carousel of GM's / Scioscia incompetence fiasco should highlight what a difference a competent front office can do to an organization. The yankees just seem like a well run professional MLB team while we look like clowns.

So many counted out the Yankees this year with all their injuries and cost cutting. They just seem to squeeze every little bit out of all these has-beens that put on the pinstripes.

I do think their pitching is gonna fall apart as the season goes on.

CC is a horse, but has a lot of miles on him. Pettite is already running on fumes, Hughes sucks when his back ISN'T hurting him. The league has figured out Nova, but Kiroda seems to be humming along.

Joba and Robertson are both hurt now

Ha.

Vernon Wells.  Luck. Will regress.

Travis Hafner.  Luck. Will regress.

Francisco Cervelli.  ha.

+9 run differential after 32 games.  .594 winning percentage.  Haha.

Stoneman and Scioscia were geniuses in 2002 when everything came together. Career years. Last good years.  Amazing health.  They were lucky.  The Yankees have been fairly lucky this far.  People overexaggerated their demise, too.
