Looked it up, and yep, he turns 100 in December.

Spoiler

Eddie Robinson, pretty solid offensive player

There is one other guy on that 1953 A's team who turns 95 next month.   He won a big award one year, with a surprisingly great season; and iirc is the only living player who played for Connie Mack.

He stood 5'7" and weighed 155 pounds. In his first professional game he made 8 errors and was soon cut from the team. Determined to become a successful player, he ended up with a 16-year MLB career and an NL career record for On-base percentage of .466 which still stands. Later he became a manager. A good manager.

Looks like John McGraw but I thought he played third mostly...

It's McGraw. I don't know why he's pictured at 1st base. You're right, he was mostly a third baseman.

As a manager, his 2,669 wins are the most ever in the National League. His teams won 10 NL pennants, 3 World Series, and finished second in 11 seasons. He had only two losing seasons. His NY Giants are still the only team to win 4 straight NL pennants (1921-24).

Voted to the Hall of Fame in 1937 as a manager.

Not a question, but an obscure trivia.

On this day (9/4) in 1978 :

In his first major league at-bat, Dorian Boyland strikes out sitting on the bench. The Pirate rookie is removed with a 1-2 count when the Mets make a pitching change and pinch-hitter Rennie Stennett takes the third strike. He is the only MLB player who, at his first at-bat in the majors, struck out while sitting on the bench having been removed with a 1-2 count. He would go on to play in only 21 games for the Pirates across 3 seasons in 1978, 1979, and 1981.
