The whole thing is odd. The article mentions that it will take six weeks for him to rehab, with only two months left. That means at most he starts 2 or 3 games and finishes the year with 3-4 starts. I've never heard of a pitching injury in which a pitcher misses 90% of the season, but it isn't Tommy John related. Richards is one of a kind.

Wouldn't mind just plugging him into the bullpen down the stretch once/if he gets back. IF he had more time to get acclimated I'd say just plug him in at closer.
