Cowart is a young 3b

Calhoun is hurt

Tim Salmon would be a hitting coach and Erstad would be a bench coach.

Also, Calhoun and Cowart have not shown they could make it in the bigs yet.

In all, this is never going to happen.

You expect/want those changes to happen this year? The manager (HC, PC, HC) changes that you listed are unlikely to happen and they definitely won't happen this season. Why would anyone trade a ML starter for Blanton?? He's one of the worst starters in the ML.

next year.

Pujols isn't going anywhere any time soon.  Odds are the only starter you get for Blanton is an equally bad pitcher who makes about the same unless you move him right before the deadline next year for pretty much nothing and that's only if the team is out of it.  Trading young players who are producing makes little or no sense because they aren't making much, they're under club control and you're banking on their backups to produce.  Teams with huge payrolls don't have a lot of options and what Boston did when they traded A. Gonzalez, Crawford, etc was a miracle.  I understand that fans are frustrated and deservedly so but when you hand out big contracts those players need to produce or you're pretty much screwed.  The Angels need to work with what they have, try to improve the farm system and look for bullpen arms.

This is the understatement of the year.  We can complain all we want about the managing, the farm system, but the Angels failure is resting on big money players who are performing WAY below expectations.

It does make you wonder about Pujols' actual age.

4 years older is probably a reach, but for all we know he could be 35 instead of 33.

It's too bad the new tv contract was apparently partly contigent on signing him.

Pujols could very well be a few years older (~21 instead of ~18 in the above pics) or it could be that he matured quickly for his age and, consequently, peaked earlier, which isn't much different practically speaking.
